Digital Innovation: LEPRA–IIHMR AI-Powered Foot Measurement App

To improve access to customized footwear services, LEPRA, in collaboration with IIHMR University, has developed the LEPRA–IIHMR AI-Powered Foot Measurement App. The smartphone-based application enables trained footwear technicians to capture foot images and measurements directly in the field, reducing the need for multiple beneficiary visits and improving access to services in remote and underserved communities.

By combining artificial intelligence, digital health records, and LEPRA’s decades of expertise in customized footwear services, the application improves measurement accuracy, standardizes assessment procedures, and supports the timely production of well-fitted protective footwear.
