Sunil Meher
Sunil Meher is a 20-year-old and the son of Mohan Meher & Parbati Meher, live at Kendupali, Block Berhampur. Sunil is doing his graduation from Berhampur College. His mother is cured of leprosy and working as a housewife, and supporting the family by weaving. Sunil has seven brothers, but five are residing separately. Father, mother and one elder brother live together and are in a weaving professional only. Sunil is educated and wanted to do something beyond his family profession. His father is maintaining his family by doing weaving work with family support.
Sunil is interested in the higher study since his childhood. So his parents being Sunil, the younger child, have taken more care, but when Sunil completed 10th grade, parents began to think about his future, and both are in a dilemma. Due to financial problems, they emphasised weaving rather than education, and somehow they agreed two years of study only, but Sunil is interested in further higher education. Meanwhile, LEPRA staff visited his house for surveillance, came to know the situation, and discussed educational support by ORACLE. Both agreed to more study and immediately took admission.
Among the seven brothers, no one was willing to study, but Sunil wants to be a defence officer and prepared himself now. He completed two years, and soon he is going to be a graduate. As he is interested in studying and putting forth his ambitions as a target, LEPRA also wants to extend the support.
Sunil received support for continuing his education last year from Oracle’s Chaha project. With this support, Sunil can follow his dreams, and the family is also happy for Sunil’s growth. Sunil and his family members thank LEPRA and Oracle for the generous support.
